Q: Missing camera alert for fully imported files

I have 25 computers running FCPX in a classroom. Almost all of them now say the footage is imported, then when you disconnect the camera, it goes red as missing footage. I imported it myself. On one computer, the clip shows up in the browser, but as soon as we drag it to the timeline, it says missing camera. I even dragged the clips into a folder on the hard drive, created a new library, project and event, and imported them from teh hard drive, and it STILL says the camera is missing.

This is not happening on ONE computer; it's MOST of them. It's NOT the students; I tried it myself. I got the box message "Import complete," and when I unplugged the camera, the clip went red.

I'm so frustrated with this, I want to go to a different editing system. FCPX is SO full of glitches!

What can I do here? I have 30 students with final projects due, and they can't even edit because the clips that are RIGHT THERE, FCP says are not.

I watched the video; I know how to problem solve. I couldn't even trick the software into recognizing
