Q: iCloud settings sync causing interference with Server sync
Server Specs:
Mac Mini Server (MacMini5,3)
OSX 10.10.5
Server 5.0.15
I've been having a pretty big issue with the iCloud settings sync interfering with my Server sync. I am in an office of 29 BYO Apple laptops enrolled in my Mac Server. We've been running with this setup for years. We recently moved over to Exchange for our email server so I added everyone's Exchange profile to Profile Manager and appended the name for the account with "[Exchange]" so they wouldn't get confused as we were still in the process of migrating emails. A couple weeks later, I decided to change this and removed that text since we were done with the migration and the clarification wasn't necessary. I made sure to go to everyone's computer and have them un-enroll and re-enroll (I know this isn't necessary but to keep the story short, I'm leaving out superfluous details). Most of the time everything works great. However, sometimes a system will just stop syncing profiles with the server. When I go into that person's system, I will see that the email account with the appended [Exchange] is back. Because the account login details are the exact same, it keeps Server from syncing anything inside of that profile. My only assumption is that the reemergence of this account comes from iCloud syncing. I am pretty sure of this because if I un-enroll that system, all of the accounts given by the server disappear, leaving just that one account. So, I delete it and re-enroll that system and everything goes back to functioning normally.
I hope all of that made sense. It basically happens to everyone eventually and sometimes repeats users. I can't ask my users to stop using iCloud because they use it for so many personal things but this is starting to get pretty annoying. Is anyone else having this or a similar issue or know of a fix?
