Q: Sold 6s, Buyer Requesting Passcode

I just sold my 6s and i had erased all data and contents in Settings. Now the buyer is saying i need to give him my former passcode to unlock the phone. IS this normal?

You forgot to sign out of your iCloud account on the device, so it is still activation locked - see Turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support and disable activation lock from a web browser and your iCloud login.

Do NOT give anyone your AppleID password. Ever.

It is if you sold him a locked phone, but handing over your password is unwise so go to iCloud.com and remove it from your account, he cannot use it until you do.
