Q: Unable to group message when an android user is involved
As recently as 6-9 months ago I was able to group text with a particular set of contacts, and then all of a sudden my attempts to send group texts from this same set of contacts failed with 'unable to deliver'. I also stopped receiving their group texts. I tested texting each contact individually and that succeeded. I tested other contacts and group texts, and those succeeded as well. I eventually narrowed the problem down to one particular contact who is using an Android device - when this contact is involved in a group text then I can't send or receive messages from this group text. Other iPhone users are able to group text with this contact - the problem appears to be isolated to my iPhone.
The Android contact has never owned an iPhone, so this is not related to an old iPhone setting of his that is left behind on Apple's iTunes config.
I've tried deleting and re-adding this particular contact, deleting all of my messages, hard rebooting, upgrading to the latest iOS, etc. Nothing works. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
