Q: Old photos have not been deleted even if it's been more than 2 months and keep crashing the photo library on icloud.

a few things

1 - iCloud Photo is not a backup - it is a syncing service - see Apples FAQs  --  iCloud Photo Library FAQ - Apple Support

iCloud Photo Library stores all of your original photos and videos in iCloud, but we always recommend you keep back up copies of your Library. You can download your photos and videos from iCloud to your computer and store them as a separate library, transfer them to another computer with Image Capture or Photos, or store them on a separate drive.

2 - ICPL can be viewed via Safari - log into iCloud.com can click on photos and see what is there - Look in the recently deleted album and see what is there

3 - we need to know details - do you have other devices using the same iCloud account?

what happens if you select one and delete (click the trash can)

try logging out of iCloud at iCloud.com and on your Mac and reboot the Mac then try iCloud.com tomorrow and see what happens - I've not seen this and can only make soem guesses as to what might help

I have the exact same problem. I have 348 photos that used to be in ICPL, but since they were deleted, they are now just grey blocks with exlamation points, but clicking on any of them throws the following error:

It seems as if Apple has deleted the physical photos from their storage, but the hyperlinks to them in ICPL is still there.  I have all the photos backed up so it's not a big deal, but it's just annoying to stare at ther 348 blocks that won't go away.

What I would like to try though is maybe uploading the same photos again and see if the pop back into their spots... Maybe deleting them again will remove the blocks?

I have attempted to upload some of the 'lost' photos again, but the system just created new ones and left their grey blocks as they were.  How can I send this to apple to investigate? I only find their phone-support, don't they have some email support too?

I have the same problem. Hope Apple is able to review the crash report log and fix this issue because it is quite annoying, specially not being able to use the "Share Moment" feature.

My girlfriend gets this error on iCloud.  There's about 900 missing pictures that just have the grey triangle with the exclamation point in it on iCloud, and are nowhere to be found on her iPhone 5S.  Recently deleted only has 19 in it, and they are supposed to be there.  They suddenly disappeared last week.  So it hasn't even been close to 30 days.  Every time I click on one on icloud.com, it gives an error.  I've sent a bunch of the error reports.  I hope I can get these back for her soon!  Anyone know what's going on???
