Q: My notes app on my iphone duplicates notes after an edit

When I edit a note that I previously created on my iphone,  it will duplicate itself and I notice it when I next go into the app.  This is in regards to my iphone only.  I am not updating or viewing notes on any other device. It usually happens within 24 hours of me editing a note, I will see a duplicate.  The only solution I have found it to manually delete the duplicate. This does not seem to happen consistently with every edited note.  It seems to be more on a cadence of about duplicating for about 1 note in every 3 edits.

Is there a solution?

Thanks!

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.1

    Hey there mikylasky!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.

The Apple "Notes" app helps keep us all organized. Duplicate notes may seem overwhelming right now, however, there are amazing resources to help us get this situated. To start, have a look at this article and ensure that your phone is up to date. The provided article also has a link which explains how to back up your information. We absolutely want to protect the notes that you currently have.

Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Once that device is running the latest iOS 9.3.2, do you recall if you've had a chance to Upgrade your notes yet? Here is a little information on what that looks like.

Upgrade your notes with iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan

That update should get you heading in the right direction though.

    Cheers!
