Q: I messed up Disk Partition using Disk Utility and now Bootcamp failed to boot!!!

Jun 8, 2016 8:05 PMby theratter,Afraid you did not read the instructions before proceeding. You will need to repartition the drive back to one single volume for OS X. Then use Boot Camp Assistant in the Utilities folder to create the Windows partition. Boot Camp does not install Windows for you. You must have your own legal copy of Windows that you purchased.

Jun 8, 2016 8:27 PMby theratter,You will have to boot from the Windows installer in order to try repairing the Windows system or erasing it and reinstalling it. Note that you now have a segment of unallocated space on the drive that cannot be made into a third partition. I have no idea if this was intentional or simply a mistake in what you started out to do. You may want to read the links I provided carefully before deciding what next to do. I would recommend using Boot Camp Assistant to remove the current Boot Camp partition. Restore the entire disk to one OS X partition/volume. Use BCA to create a new Windows partition then reinstall Windows.

Jun 8, 2016 8:50 PMby yique,The unallocated space was originally part of mac partition. I shrank 50gb from mac partition and created new partition. The formatted to MS-DOS with disk utility. After I found out it had caused bootcamp not to load, i erased the newly created partition.
I read in this forum that this can be repaired without having to reinstall fresh copy of windows but I have no idea where and how to start.
