Q: Incorrect number of threads
Yesterday, my computer wouldn't start. It would go to the apple screen and the progress bar would slowly load to almost the very end and then it would shut off. I couldn't get it to start up in safe mode or recovery mode or using the install DVD. Finally, I used single user mode and ran fsck. I'm enclosing the photo from that. It ran and ran and said that it couldn't repair. Then I restarted and did this again, and finally it rebooted all the way. I finally was able to run disk repair, and it says your mac seems to be OK. Is it my hard drive that's going bad? I have an SSD that is a few years old. By the way, my late 2008 macbook is running 10.9.5 and I had just been asked to install an update. I'm wondering if the update is what set off the problem.
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
