Q: Mouse Lag on Dell P2715Q with iMac Late 2013

I purchased a Dell P2715Q as a second monitor for my iMac Late 2013, based on the recommendations listed on the apple.com website. I am connecting the two monitors through a mini-display port to display port 1.2. However, there is a lag on the Dell monitor. I've tried connecting the two through a thunderbolt cable and the Dell monitor didn't even pick up anything. What is the reason for the lag? And, how can it be resolved?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

Thanks for posting on Apple Communities mmejia08!

I understand that your new Dell display is experiencing some lag when connected to your iMac. We should check the App Store to see if any updates are available for OS X. Once that has completed, please try to set up the Dell display as a mirror for your iMac as well as an extension to see if the lag continues. The links below can assist you with updating OS X and setting up the second display in different views.

Using multiple displays is a great way to get more work done on your iMac. These steps will allow you to get the very best use from your new Dell display.

    Have a great day.
