Jun 9, 2016 9:26 AM in response to bobseufertby Diana.McCall,Just a further remark on formatting. When I view the list of posts using Safari on iPad air, I can see 5 posts, 15 lines of text, with one or more blank lines between each. 5 of those lines contain "Read full post". Couldn't the link anchor be applied to the post title, instead of wasting two lines for each? Isn't it natural to click the title for more info?

Jun 9, 2016 9:33 AM in response to bobseufertby Diana.McCall,OK, so here are two good points.
Showing the latest poster in the list view saves me opening the thread to see if anyone has replied.
And different icons for solved, helped, and recommended, solves my previous issue of recommended appearing to indicate solved in the list.
So, good thinking there, but I hate the giant font and all the useless whitespace. BTW, the old tiny font is still featured in this Reply window, it just balloons when poated.

Jun 9, 2016 9:58 AM in response to Diana.McCallby Diana.McCall,Oops. When a post has only one Helpful reply, the page says "There's more to the conversation" and offers "See all replies". But when I click on it, there is only one reply. This logic should be sensitive to this case, where all the replies have already been promoted to the top. This is like a GUI that says "There are 1 results matching your query".

Jun 9, 2016 10:22 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby turingtest2,I've addressed some of the white space issues and the font size at Minimal CCS tweaks for ASC, although those will only help on a computer where you can add your own CSS overrides.

Jun 9, 2016 12:21 PM in response to turingtest2by Diana.McCall,I agree. Once you're viewing "All replies", there's a link to the last page, but not the last post. That should be available right up with the original post, as it was before. As I mentioned, this is particularly needed in multi-year threads, since only the tail contains new information. Incidentally, is there a link back to the first post? I didn't notice one. That's useful if you're linked into the middle of a thread and want to start from the top.

Jun 9, 2016 1:35 PM in response to Diana.McCallby turingtest2,The original question now carries over to every page so home will get you there but when the panel is hovering at the top of the page the thread title would be a useful link back to it.

Jun 9, 2016 3:28 PM in response to bobseufertby Diana.McCall,Hello Bob,
Not exactly. The last button goes to the same position on the last page of the discussion. When I used the one at the top of the first page, after scrolling down and hitting "Show all replies", it took me to the top of this page. When I scrolled down and used the button at the bottom, it took me to the bottom.
But I'd like to add another gripe. The date of the first post shoild be shown above it, with the decoration, the same as on all the replies. I use it to recognize those multi-year threads that have been reawakened. With the new design, I have to scroll through the original post before seeing the date.
Another observation is that, when you hit the next page arrow, the display immediately updates to Page 2, even though the content has not changed. This makes interaction awkward because you may start looking for something on the page before it's loaded.
Was this actually beta tested, or are the designers so certain of perfection that no serious testing is required?

Jun 9, 2016 4:37 PM in response to bobseufertby SergZak,Of all the "updates" of ASC over the the years, this has to be the worst of the worst.
Can we have a larger font please? There seems to be a few more than one line showing on screen...thanks.

It's a good thing that Apple disagrees since they seem to be the only ones that believe what's quoted above.

Jun 9, 2016 4:25 PM in response to Diana.McCallby bobseufert,Aloha DianaMcCall.
Thank you for giving the new Forum such an exhaustive going over. I'm having trouble keeping up with all the posts and can't get to everyone right away but please keep posting when you find something. I've asked the hosts to follow this thread and hopefully when I catch up e'll go over all the points you raised.
Thank you. Bob.
