Q: Permanently deleting apps

Currently, when you delete an app from your iPhone, it merely gets removed the the phone, but stays in your list of available apps in iTunes.

So, currently, when you try an app on your phone and decide you dont like it, it remains in your list of downloaded apps in iTunes.  The only way to permanently delete it, is  to remember to go back to iTunes and manually delete it from there.

I am assuming this is accurate and there is no way in iTunes to see which apps were recently removed from the phone (thereby jogging your memory as to what apps you might want to permanently get rid of.

I wish, when deleting an App from the iPhone/iPad, you were given the choice of "remove from iPhone/iPad" and "permanently delete."  I've got way too many unwanted apps cluttering up iTunes...

Thanks for this piece of advice! Yours was the only one which got rid of the unwanted apps permanently. Thank you once again!!!    "I know I am much happier" And so am I

I was having this same problem, and have figured out if you open your itunes on the computer on the left under library you will find apps. Click on that and in categories you will find all of the apps you have ever downloaded.  click on one and it will display everything in that category, from there click on the app you want to delete and press the delete button on your keyboard, you can then put the app in your trash bin and its gone.

I hope this helps everyone out. I know I am much happier

I was wondering the same thing, and figured it out.

Go to the top left of your iTunes screen, and click the drop down - go to Apps

Once all apps are shown, right click on app, and it will give you the option to delete it.

I concur, dme0979 idea worked perfectly. Apps are all gone. You should work for Apple. Thanks for clearing the confusion and given us folks a real answer instead of some wannabe computer tech wizards drivel.

Even though this is an old question/answer.... THIS is the answer I was looking for!  I know how to remove them from my device. I want them off my COMPUTER. Games I don't play anymore. Free apps I tried (you know...like from Starbucks) and never used....  Just bogging down the works.

    THANK YOU.

Not really. If you were, these apps were deleted by Apple.

You can hide the apps you no longer want.

Read from the first page of this thread.

Hiding them doesn't get rid of them when your iTunes and cloud accounts are hacked

What is more likely is that people are hacking you based on information you make publicly available.

Did you tell me what my issue is when you clearly don't know the circumstances I would appreciate you directly answering the question I've been on the phone with Apple support for multiple hours as well as geek squad I'm fully aware that mom being hacked however I need to secure my apps and I want to remove some permanently from my account so please advise me how to do that because they're getting in through these apps I don't need your hypotheses! I've hired a forensic digital specialist now I'm asking you a direct question please tell me how to remove them!?! This is what you're seeing your text in your business department have told me that I need to do as well as geek squad and the digital forensic engineer's

You can't permanently delete any item for your purchase history.

If you believe that you are being hacked through apps then you've reported it to Apple ? If you have, and if the apps were found to be doing things that they shouldn't be doing, Apple would have removed them from the store - in which case they would no longer be in the store for you to redownload onto your device.

This is what you're seeing your text in your business department have told me that I need to do as well as geek squad and the digital forensic engineer's

Don't know what that is supposed to mean, but you already know that you are talking to fellow users on these user-to-user forums, not iTunes Support nor Apple.

I'm not sure who you think you're talking to. Neither I, nor anyone else who's posted here works for Apple.

If you put as much personal information in every post you put on the internet as you've put here, it would be comparatively easy for someone without too much in the way of skills to find out enought about you to do some serious damage.
