I understand the importance of getting that song back on your wife's playlist. If we are unable to see the song in your purchase history, please make sure that you are signed into the iTunes store with the Apple ID that purchased the song. It is possible that the song is in the hidden purchases section of the iTunes store. Please review the links below to assist you with unhiding and re-downloading your song from your purchase history.
Hide and unhide iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store purchases
See your purchase history in the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC
Once you locate the song in your purchases, downloading and adding it back to the playlist is a breeze!
