Q: any siggestion besides sending for repair?

Good day, my apple watch is hot on the back and not charging? tried different options like pressing the bottom right for more than 10 seconds and is death. Left got cold and did it again and is death.  It was working perfectly fine until today this morning that did not charged and got hot.

    Hi

    Try force restarting your watch: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the logo.

    If that does not help, next try charging your watch for around 2.5 hours, making sure that you follow the charging instructions here:

    Check your battery and charge your Apple Watch - Apple Support

    After that time, if it has not already restarted automatically, remove it from the charger and:

    - Try restarting it (by pressing and holding the side button until you see the Apple logo).

    - Next try force restarting it again.

    When charging your watch, check that:

    • All plastic wrap has been removed from both ends and both sides of the charging cable (check closely on the head of the charger).

    charger-plastic-2.gif

    • The back of your watch and the head of the charging cable are clean and dry (clean them with a nonabrasive, lint-free cloth).
    • The charging head is properly aligned with the back of the watch, with the concave / curved side touching it fully:
      • Some watch docks, stands, cases or protectors might hinder this.
    • You are using:
      • A genuine Apple Magnetic Charging Cable, or;
      • A genuine Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock with a genuine or Apple-certified Lightning to USB Cable, or;
      • An Apple-certified magnetic charging module.
      • If possible, test with another cable, dock or module that meets these requirements (for example, by borrowing a cable from a friend).
    • If you are charging your watch by plugging into mains power:
      • Check that the USB connector on the Apple Magnetic Charging Cable is pushed fully into the USB Power Adapter.
      • Check that the USB Power Adapter is fully pushed into the power outlet.
      • Try using different adapters from the following:
        • The genuine Apple USB Power Adapter that was supplied with the watch, or;
        • A genuine Apple 5W (iPhone) or 12W (iPad) USB Power Adapter, or;
        • An Apple-certified (MFi) third-party 5W USB power adapter.
      • Try using a different power outlet (one that is known to be working properly).
      • If no other suitable power adapters are available, try instead charging via a USB port.
      • If charging via a USB port on a computer, ensure that you use a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port, the computer remains turned on and awake and the cable is plugged directly into the computer (not into, for example, an external keyboard).
    • If your battery is very low, you may need to wait for a few minutes before the green lightning bolt appears (confirming that charging has started).

    I really would suggest that you bring the Apple Watch to an Apple Store or send it back to Apple.

    Also if you can bring it back to life it seems that your Apple Watch is not working properly.

    If the issue persists, contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch and power accessories checked (under warranty, if eligible):

    If you have not yet done so, I suggest that you do try force restarting your watch, as suggested in my previous reply.

    Note that this is different to what you had already tried:

    To force restart your watch, remove it from the charger, allow it to cool down (if still hot) and then press and hold both buttons for around 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

    It is normal for your watch, charger and cable to become warm when connected to power, but not for them to become hot. When charging your watch, in addition to the troubleshooting steps suggested in my previous reply, also ensure that you follow the guidelines here:
