Q: Mirroring boot hdd to ssd
Hi everyone!
I just purchased an Accelsior PCIe SSD.
I have a MacPro 5,1 mid-2010 and am using a traditional 7200 rpm drive as my boot disk (Yosemite 10.10.5).
Can I mirror the drive to the SSD once I have it installed, instead of reinstalling the OS and the TONS(!) of software I'm using?
If so, what would be the best method of doing so to boot from the SSD?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 12 core Dual 3.46 GHZ MacPro 5,1

Cloning the Recovery partition depends upon the method used.
Using Disk Utility cones both the Recovery partition and the OSX partition.
Using the SuperDuper (free) app does NOT clone the Recovery partition
Using the paid Carbon Copy Clone (paid) app clones both.
If you startup the with the Option key depressed yo can select which one to boot from.
Also, if you go to System Preferences>Startup disk you can select the default startup disk. Yo first have to click on the padlock icon in lower left and enter your admin password to allow changing the startup disk
