Q: New computers...network accounts

I Just got a new laptop...I would like to replace it with my current one...then give my current one to my wife....hers to my son...and his to my daughter...I run OS X Server and manage all with profile manager and network accounts...how would I go about making sure everyone's stuff gets to their new computers?  I am thinking I can just log in with each account on the new computer?

By default everything in the home directory (with a couple of exceptions for things like caches)

The main gotcha is that the clients using a particular mobile account should have the same version of OS X installed. This is because some applications, such as Mail.app, change the format of the databases they use from one generation of OS X to another.

In my opinion you should be running 10.11.5 on everything and have Server 5.1.5 installed. A lot of issues will go away once you have achieved this.

Whether Mobile Accounts are the best choice depends on your circumstances. If everybody has their 'own' single Mac that they use Mobile accounts don't have a lot of advantages or disadvantages. If users sometimes want to 'borrow' another Mac, e.g. because they left their's at the office or it's in for repairs, or have both a laptop for when they're on the road and a desktop for use at home then Mobile accounts start to win.
