Most important thing: don't let the battery run empty when you're planning to not use your iPhone for a while (not likely), and don't let the iPhone (and its battery) get very hot. During normal use charging to 100 is fine, letting it drop to 5 is fine to, and it doesn't matter if you charge with your laptop or the charger.
