Q: Profile Manager 5.1.5: Pushed apps quit immediately after opening

Hello everyone

I have been testing OSX Server 5.1.5 on a freshly installed system with Profile Manager for MDM. I noticed that when I push iPads either singly or in groups they crash immediately after opening. I have checked through the settings and configs but it looks ok.

What could the problem be?

iPad Mini, iOS 9.3.2, OSX Server 5.1.5

We've had this problem also.  Deleting the App from the iPad and repushing fixes it but thats certainly not an acceptable fix.

I belive the problem is that Profile Manager isnt recording that the App has been updated, or the install failed in someway.  Its only with VPP apps so certainly related to that.

I refreshed my Apple Push Notification Cert and updated the servers to the latest version which appear to have sorted this bug.

To refresh your APN cert, to to Server.app and click your server name in the top left.  Then settings and "edit apple ID" on the APN section.  Then just click "renew".

You can also set your App Push settings to be "manual" rather than automatic.  Ive read in another post that the "manual" pushing of Apps seems more reliable than the automatic method.

This is done via profile manager in your device group.
