Jun 6, 2016 8:28 PM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby batmandan,The question is why only the 500 and 700 are listed in the leaked memo about the recall when clearly the 300 has the same issue.

Jun 6, 2016 8:32 PM in response to batmandanby Grant Bennet-Alder,A fascinating rhetorical question, but anyone here with firm information is under non-disclosure agreement, and simply can't say.
As I said above, you may find the genius bar will treat your issues more seriously these days.

Jun 7, 2016 6:43 AM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby batmandan,Today I am told by Apple that replacing the video cards didn't fix the issue, and that it is most likely the RAM at fault. So I now have to wait another 2-3 days for parts to arrive and then another 2-3 days for testing. Sounds a bit strange, as others have reported RAM replacement didn't help with these problems.
Somehow I don't feel I am getting the whole truth.

Jun 7, 2016 5:22 PM in response to batmandanby HitzHits, nope, they are bullshiting you - just like a lot of others of us. Obviously they know that something is wrong but now they are trying to put it on others... what a lame company...

Jun 8, 2016 3:04 AM in response to HitzHitsby guitarsos ,LAME indeed!!! I've had my MP at the service centre for 8 days, reformatted, downgraded OS, it passed all the tests, only to arrive home and have exactly the same problems (freezing) it froze in the shop as well ruling out the possibility of it being a problem with my peripherals ......is this really so hard to fix when so many people are having the same experience ?

apple reads this?
Apple makes no promise of reading anything here, and never responds here.
If you want help from Apple, Inc. You need to present your equipment at a free appointment at the genius Bar (where available) or contact AppleCare by Phone (a charge may apply).

DesktopsThere is a "silent recall" in place for certain Mac Pros that have the 500 and 700 graphics cards:

Jun 8, 2016 9:00 AM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby HitzHits,Hi Grant,
I saw this article and I wrote Joe Rossignol to ask from where he got this information. As long as there is no OFFICIAL Apple information about it - it's all just someone's opinion.
So far I didn't get any feedback from him. So I have to doubt his statement and article.

Jun 12, 2016 3:18 PM in response to HitzHitsby batmandan,Today I got my Mac Pro mack, after nearly 3 weeks of being at the Apple store. The 2 ribbon cables were replaced that connect the cards to the daughterboard. Guess I've gotta get Applecare as the warranty is up next month.

Jun 14, 2016 9:14 AM in response to batmandanby HitzHits,I got my baby back and they told me that there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. They did extended "stress" testing and the Mac didn't freeze once. So they can't figure out what is wrong. In a way I am happy to hear that and I still have the feeling that they did / changed something :-). The Tech confirmed that there is a silent recall on the graphic cards - but he didn't want to say more.
I have run a song last night (very intense 90% CPU) for about 5 hours and didn't freeze.
So I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it will stay this way......

Jun 20, 2016 6:02 PM in response to HitzHitsby batmandan,SO after repair my computer has been running for 7 days with no problems at all. I have noticed that the video does come back considerably quicker from sleep than it did before, so maybe they have solved the issue by replacing the 2 ribbon cables. I'll post back if I do have any problems.

Jun 30, 2016 10:30 AM in response to if84by sereyratanak,To make story short :
1. I brought to Apple store for repair, it took 7 days to get Approved for the parts.
2. 2-Graphic Boards, D300 AMD and Board I/O replaced. It took totally 3 weeks to get it back.
3. After week, I got Wheel Spinning randomly. Spent Talking to Support 5 hours, talked Cooperated Customer Service in TX, request for replacement. Got Denied and suggested to Talk back with Apple Support again.
4. Talked Apple Support, only she can do is scheduled with Genius at Apple Store in 2 days.
5. Talked to Another Cooperated Customer Service, Senior Apple Support, reinstalled fresh new OS. STILL GOT THE SAME ISSUE WITH that STUPID GRAPHIC CARD.
6. Waiting word from them now as 06-30-2016.
It is really Ashamed that Apple's culture is no longer existed ANYMORE. Could not believe there is $3500 trashcan, I got.
