Q: I need to move videos off of final cut pro. How do I do it? Are they stored somewhere separate?

I need to move videos off of final cut pro onto an external drive. How do I do it? Are they stored somewhere separate?

I keep getting the Beachball of death because of this, I need them moved soon.

    If you only have one Library and it uses Managed Media, just copy the whole Library to an external.

    Make sure that all is well before deleting the other Library.

     

    The default location for a Library is the Home>Movies folder.

    Media is in the FCP X Library, right click and select Show Package Contents.

    It is unwise to mess with the contents.

    VVideo is commonly stored inside the library. Locate your libraries in the Finder and move them to an OS X formatted USB3 or better drive.
