Q: Apple Music will not play My Music when wifi is off or airplane mode is on

Initially all of My Music played with the upgrade to iOS 8.4. As soon as I selected something from the Apple Library to listen offline all of My Music will no longer play without a Wifi or cellular connection. This means that if I am travelling and turn Airplane Mode on, none of my music can be listened to - this is a huge bug.

Strangely, the Apple Library album that I selected to listen to offline is available. It seems that as soon as an Apple Library song or album is selected for listening offline, all of the other songs are flagged as not available offline.

Is there a way to either:

- Select all of My Music for listening offline so the meta data can be updated?

- Easy way to remove all the Apple Music Library songs and albums that were set for offline listening?

My hope is Apple will fix this bug so that all of the music under the My Music category is always available even when Airplane Mode is turned on (no wifi or cellular connection)

Thanks,

Eddie

After reading all of the posts I can relate to the very buggy behavior AM  shows. It is simply NOT reliable. Today when flying to NY, phone was on airplane mode, and mid-flight I went to listen to some music and found out that, for the second time in a few months, AM has simply DELETED  my entire offline library, which amounts to over 6,000 songs. It took me a long time to download all of them for offline listening as I fly a lot, and the library includes a mix of many purchased songs (over 3,000) and ICML songs which were added and downloaded.

    This is simply ridiculous.

After I connected again upon arrival, AM repopulated my library on the phone,  but ALL downloads were gone, meaning several hours of new downloads ahead - VERY IRRITATING.

Guess I will go back to Spotify.

Agreed. This is freaking rediculous.  Why all this buggering around??  I'm done with Apple too. Too many issues getting music to stay and play only she it's a Tuesday with still moon

Have the same problem, its like the phone wants to only play music when it is connected to wifi. I own the songs i want to play and keep trying to permanently put them on my device so that I can play it even when i am on airplane mode or on 3g and don't want to stream from the internet. This is so frustrating, it keeps wiping my phone automatically, i keep trying to put the songs back in. Apple is really loosing its grip on customer service and pushing its music program by force, gross.

So what you're saying is that unless the music in iTunes library is downloaded from the iTunes store it cannot be played on iTunes?

No, it means that the tracks must be download (or synced) to the device in order to play them with an internet connection of some kind. You cannot stream music (or ANY content for that matter) without being able to connect to the server in which it resides.

have you tried to "reset all settings"

My iPhone, when I play music, it skips every track. but after doing a reset the music plays.

    -Settings

    -General

         -Reset

         -Reset All Settings

This is quiet ridiculous my own music prior to even adding the stupid apple application is being restricted from being used by me... perhaps apple should think that there a wrong here... mr. Kilgore Trout... has missed the answer by miles and it seems that he has no idea what is the problem here..

Why can't users listen to music while off-line or on airplane mode..  a fix is in order, or Iphone is going to the trash, after all there are options out there
