Q: How to recover deleted photos from iphone

I just downloaded all the photos from my iPhone 6 to my Windows PC and opted to delete after download.

I created a specific folder for the download and watched as the process it happened.

I had the photo stream disabled and so they were not backed up in iCloud.

I have done this several times prevously with no problems.

After the download and subsequent deletion, the folder opened on my PC and the only files that downloaded were approximately 30 videos.  Over 1000 photos disappeared and are nowhere to be found.

There are no photos in the "recently deleted" folder on the phone either.

I see on the internet there are several programs, many of which advertise as free, that claim to be able to recover deleted photos from iPhones.

I have had previous success with recovery of photos from camera discs.  Does anyone have experience with software designed to recover photos from iPhones?

    I understand that you've downloaded photos from your iPhone 6 to your Windows PC, and then you deleted the photos from your iPhone. Now you're not able to see all of the photos that you downloaded from your iPhone to your PC. I have several things for you to check. 

     

    First, If you've backed up your iPhone to iCloud or iTunes, you'll have a saved copy of your photos and information. 

     

    How to back up your devices using iCloud or iTunes

     

    Next, If you've backed up to iCloud, use your Apple ID and log into the iCloud website and see if your photos are there. 

     

    And finally, If you've backed up to iTunes, use the article Find and manage your iTunes backups to try and located the backup, specifically, this section: 

     

    Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10

    Find device backups in \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

    To quickly access the Application Data folder:

    1. Locate the search bar.
      Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click Start.
      Windows 8: Click the magnifying glass in the upper-right corner.
      Windows 10: Click the search bar next to the Start button.
    2. In the search bar, type: 
      %appdata%
    3. Press Return.
    4. Double-click these folders: Apple Computer > MobileSync > Backup.
