Jun 14, 2016 6:58 AM in response to Jbbttusmuby 1ricca,Setting up separate iCloud accounts and linking via family share doesn't even yield the same effect and benefits as sharing one account for the whole family. I took the time to set all that nonsense up myself only to find out that it screws up 75% of the reasons that we share the account (synced contacts, backups of all devices, synced photos, etc). Lately it has become ridiculous. Now we can no longer have different "My Info" across separate devices on the same account. It keeps switching to my wife's info on my phone. We share missed calls now. Even apple support employees have routinely mixed up our devices. FYI we have had a shared single account since it was called MobileMe for $100/yr

MobileMe was deprecated and iCloud released just around the same time that Mr. Jobs died. It is quite likely that he had a hand in the development of iCloud, so in addition to being offensively presumptuous, your statement is also probably factually incorrect.

Are you talking about the same Steve Jobs that solved the iPhone-4 antenna problem by telling owners "Don't hold it that way."

Jun 14, 2016 7:34 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby 1ricca,I know... \facepalm iCloud worked great for several years just like MobileMe. He also famously flipped out cursing and screaming at the entire MobileMe team when it started to have issues like the ones described here in iCloud today. People were fired. The team scrambled. All the problems were fixed and it became insanely simple and effective for families to use MobileMe.

Jun 14, 2016 7:39 AM in response to Csound1by Rcweinbe,Incorrect. Mixing up call information was not intended. Don't try conflating intended with unintended. Every support person I've spoken to regarding this issue admits this happens at random. Eg, not intended. Sorry, you're handing out bad info.

Jun 16, 2016 3:22 PM in response to Jbbttusmuby patrick.forbus,Every time there is an upgrade we need to search out what setting we need to fix this problem. For those of you that don't share Apple IDs please refrain from responding that we shouldn't. Your wrong and it it has always worked well to share everything from contacts to documents. We just need Apple to recognizant and address the issue with the settings we need.

Jun 16, 2016 4:08 PM in response to patrick.forbusby Csound1,There are changes with every upgrade because you are using it in an unsupported configuration. You already know what to do to address this, but in line with your requests I shall refrain from telling you again

Jun 17, 2016 5:23 AM in response to KiltedTimby rasals,I am new to this chain and experiencing the same problem with my family. Having tried everything offered to no avail, I am willing to concede your tough love offered to the community here. One issue I have, is that my family is lives by 'find my iphone'. My wife and I both work over several counties and our kids drive ('nough said). We all like being able to use one app to know where everyone is. Do you know if we stop using the same apple id for icloud, will that all end? Is there a work around? Our family is very open, and the missed call issue is more of an annoyance than a real problem, so we will likely live with it instead of losing the tracking benefit...

Jun 17, 2016 2:14 PM in response to rasalsby Lawrence Finch,Find My iPhone works across all iCloud accounts that are part of Family Sharing. Alternatively, you can use the Find my Friends app, and include people who are not linked by Family Sharing. See: Family Sharing - Apple Support

Jun 21, 2016 5:24 PM in response to matofromcurlewisby Tammy in MO,I cannot find this setting. Is it on your phone? If so, what iOS version are you using?

Jun 21, 2016 6:58 PM in response to rasalsby KiltedTim,That's what Find my Friends was designed for. If you're afraid that your kids are going to turn it off so you can't track them, you need to reexamine your parenting style and the privileges you allow them.
