Q: Does frequent "Forced Closing of Apps" somehow hurt IOS ?
Hi Folks,
yesterday i went to the Apple Store in Frankfurt because i needed support with my iphone. The PHONE functionality of the iPHONE itself crashes several times a day:
i try to call someone, the screen gets black, and fades instantly back to where i came from, and noone can reach me (they get a "not reachable" message, and i see nothing at all happening on my phone). If i reboot the phone, i receive SMS about missed calls. that's the case so far.
Apple Employee: "How often do you close your apps?"
Me: "hm, perhaps several times a day"
Apple Employee: "That's why your phone doesnt work anymore. you will have to reinstall everything from scratch. and i bet it will work again"
Me: "What ? i should not close any apps? That hurts the OS ?"
Apple Employee: "Yeah, closing the apps via swipe gesture is emergency closing apps, and that leads to strange memory behaviours in IOS. And if you do this too often, strange thins like this happen to your phone. Reinstall the whole phone from scratch and i bet it works again."
Me: "I cannot believe this."
Apple Empoyee: "This is an information we got directly from Apple"
And "from Scratch" means from "Hello!", not iTunes.
To me, all this sounds like a joke, or is that guy right ?
Why should only the phone app crash, and no other app on the phone ?
I'm completely stuck now
I still have guarantee, but noone cares, Apple Care...
