Q: Internet account is inactive and now it isn't and now it is...

I had this very same problem a while ago but completely forgot how to resolve it.

For various reasons I completed a new user profile for myself recently as was having problems with the finder and a lot of people suggested this could work, which it has. Although I thought my passwords were all in the cloud, they are not and despite me rescuing a back up from Time Machine of the relevant files it appears that all my frequented sites are requiring me to input my password for the first time as it isn't stored in Keychain.

So just now I came to Vimeo for the first time since update and Mac asked if I wanted to grant access across the board to other apps, or whatever the wording is, which I granted. I received a Mac notification that Vimeo needs turning on, which I enabled. And then I received another and another and another. My internet accounts currently displays Vimeo as inactive for about 3 seconds and then it disappears for similar and then reappears. Nothing can remove it and I have had to disable notifications for the day to disable the deluge of them.

I know there is a fix for this as I said at the start I have encountered this before. If anyone could salvage my notification sanity, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi Antonio Spinozzi1,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that you've set up a new user profile on a Mac that you restored from a Time Machine backup. This new user profile isn't accessing iCloud Keychain where all of your passwords are stored.

Use Frequently asked questions about iCloud Keychain and make sure that iCloud Keychain is set up on the new user profile, specifically, this section:

How do I set up iCloud Keychain?

After upgrading to iOS 7.0.3 or later, the iOS setup assistant will ask you to set up iCloud Keychain. If you skipped this step and want to set up iCloud Keychain now, follow these steps:

Use these steps if you're using iOS 7.0.3 or later:

    1. Tap Settings > iCloud and turn Keychain on.
    2. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Use these steps if you're using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later:

    1. Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
    2. Select Keychain. If you want to, you can set a passcode to unlock your screen after sleep or after the screen saver begins.
    3. Enter your Apple ID and password.
    4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Sorry it's taken so long to respond but I've been moving home. Okay so what you suggested above was/had already been done. The more pressing of the issues is this Vimeo on/off which is incredibly frustrating and the only workaround is to switch do not disturb on in notifications otherwise I'm literally getting 1 every 3 or 4 seconds without anyway to remove Vimeo from my internet accounts. Like I said, I know there's a fix for this as it happened before but I can't find/remember what it is.
