Q: Save (and share) iPhone photo/video to iCloud Drive

I would like to put a photo/video that lives on my iPhone into iCloud Drive so I can share it with others (think Dropbox Public Folder). Is that possible?

I don't believe that's possible, however why not just use iCloud Photo Sharing (if you've got an iPhone already) -- iCloud Photo Sharing - Apple Support

I'd normally just send a video through messages to one person but when I do, it takes up space on my multiple iOS devices by default  (which is ok as I want the full history on all devices). When it's a larger file multiplied by multiple devices, it takes up a good deal of iCloud and local backup space. I'm trying to find an alternative way send individual videos to individual recipients. Photo sharing isn't ideal for that one-to-one work flow.

Ah, I see.  Then you'll probably have to use a third party option like Dropbox or Google Photos, however, with Dropbox, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) the video will already have to be uploaded into their folders.
