Q: Numbers on Ipad- Keyboard Shortcut

Hello all,  Does anyone know if there is a keyboard shortcut for Numbers on Ipad that allows you to change the formula editor from a number input to a time/date input?

Every time I try to enter a date into a cell(using my apple keyboard), numbers automatically thinks its a number and wont let me format  into a date unless I though the screen first and change over to the "time/date" keyboard.

iPad Pro, iOS 9.3.2

Are you putting multiple data formats into a single column? Usually we know what kind of data is going to go into any cell or columns of cells.

So if you know that dates go in column B and Text in Column C, have you formatted the columns prior to entering data? (i.e. in our example, all of Col B is set to Date, and C to text)

In other words, Don't leave the formatting to automatic. This requires numbers to guess the format based on what you type. which is what it sounds like is happening.

This should tell ios what keyboard to bring up, As you move to a cell with formatting already applied, the keyboard will change to the proper keyboard for that format.

If you are wondering what keyboard shortcuts there are, I am assuming that Apple implemented the identical keyboard shortcuts as the desktop version.

That list of shortcuts is listed on This web page
