Q: Mail app rejects password of Hotmail Account

Almost a week ago the Mail app on my Macbook stopped receiving mails from my hotmail account. It repeatedly asks me for my password(which I know is the right one) but it rejects it every single time. I have one more hotmail account added, but the problem mentioned happens only to one of them. The Mail app on my iphone works fine for both the hotmail accounts. I also connected to my hotmail account through Outlook.com on Safari. Everything worked fine. The problem only appears on my Macbook's Mail app. I don't know what to do. Please help me!


P.S. This page didn't help me at all. if Mail repeatedly asks for the password of your email account

    I have been having the exact same problem and today I decided to try and fix it as I knew the password I was typing was right, so I think I've found a fix that works.

     

    Delete whatever you had added as the hotmail account in Settings->Internet Accounts by clicking the minus button when selecting it, then add a new account again, but this time don't select Exchange, scroll down to 'Add Other Account' then select 'Mail Account' and if you type in your credentials, hey presto it should work!
