Q: Epson scanner no longer works with OS X El Capitan
I have an Epson GT-20000 scanner. I have an iMac 27-inch, mid 2011. I upgraded to OS X El Capitan and my scanner no longer works. I have spent hours with Epson support and have spent almost $900 with a local Mac repair shop getting a new hard drive and supposedly fixing the problem, but it persists. I want to know: should I buy a new scanner, or will I have the same problem? Should I revert to an older operating system and if so, how? Should I try to install an older driver for my scanner? Any assistance would be much appreciated. Oh, and Mail seems to work intermittently.
iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

Hi,
You don't need to use the Epson software for scanning nor do you need to buy a new scanner.
You can use the Image Capture app pre installed on your Mac in your Applications folder.
