Q: cycle count

hi everyone, do anyone experience cycle count not counting when you discharge it on two separate occasion. for example: you discharge 2 times till 25% then fully charged it back that count 1 cycle correct. but in my case that doesn't  get 1 cycle count. my mac only count  1 cycle count when it fully discharge it till 0%. so my question is do this normal? Actually this is replacement battery i bought it from OWC nupower only use it for 3 month, but it still hold usage times 6 hours. the reason i'm asked because try to get a replacement battery from OWC with still valid warranty, but they need me to pay shipment to send back to them, which in my situation it doesn't worth it to spend another money for product like this. So if anyone happened this before please suggest or that cycle count doesn't really matter. thanks

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

This defines cycle counts in a Mac battery:

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201585

Your example of two 25% discharges equates to one half of a cycle.

    Ciao.

DO NOT DISCHARGE YOUR MBP TO 0%. Mistake #1! Lithium Ion batteries are designed to maintain charge and should be stored "unused" with at least a 50% charge for long-term non-use. That being said. For extreme power use Applications such as games, 3D animation, movies, software updates and such, it is a good habit to plug up to power. To view your cycle count press [option] key and click on the Apple logo top left of Menu Bar.

Go in to Force Quit and make sure all running Apps in the background are closed. Hit Force Quit>Force Quit button for each open app.

    RESET SMC

On a MBP with Non-Removable battery. Shutdown your Mac and connect MagSafe charger. Press and hold [shift]+[control]+[option] onON LEFT SIDE OF KEYBOARD then press power a hold all for two to three seconds and let go. You may see the MagSafe light change flicker. Shutdown your MBP if it powers up. Leave it connected to fully charge, You may wish to check Preferences when you power up to verify that your settings are where you like them.

NEVER LET YOUR MBP GET BELOW 10-11% before connecting charger. Try minimal to zero usage to get maximum charge during charging. Just a few helpful tips.

    Cheers!!

cycle count not counting happen before fully discharge. i known is not good to fully discharge. so when i bought it about first 2 months i used discharge it all the way till 25% left of 4 times. that mean should have at least 2 cycle count, but none. so i fully discharge it to see. but my big suprise is fully discharge will show 1 cycle count. i was like what was happening.

Apologies, two discharges to the 25% level would be the equivalent of 1.5 cycles.  One cycle should be registered on the cycle count and when an additional discharge of 50% occurs, then another cycle will be registered.

    Ciao.
