Q: iPhoto no longer syncs using iTunes

My iMac running OSX 10.10.5 and iTunes 12.4.1.6 is no longer syncing to my iPhone and iPad running IOS 9.3.2

About a month ago, it stopped syncing new photos and changes to my Events, and 4Star and 5Star albums.  I have iCloud Photo Library and PhotoStream Sharing off, but do enable iCloud Photo sharing.  Is anyone else out there having trouble syncing to their IOS devices?  Until Apple provides me with a simple way to select 5 star ratings for photographs and brings back the ability for me to sort photos by Events, instead of their rigid Moments and Collections, I can't switch to Photo.

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

I have no idea what you are talking about  - you are mixing iPhoto complaints with Photos features and complaints in the Photo for Mac fourm

You posted  what you say is an iPhoto question in the Photos for Mac forumbut claim you are using features that are only in Photos (not iPhoto) - what exactly do you have and what exactly is your questions?

Adn specifically Photos is a new and totally different program that does have a learning curve and does not do things the same as iPhoto - but is much better overall - with Photos there are not events but you can simulate them is you want - Moments in Photos are the New Events  -  and Photos does not have star ratings but you can also simulate the easily too - How to Simulate Star Ratings in Photos

So if you have a question we can help but you have to make your actual question clear

and no one here can change anything - we can only help you use things the way they are

    I can't switch to Photo.

So the iTUnes syncing is with your iPhoto Library?

In iTunes, did you select "Sync photos from iPhoto"?  Is this option available or is iTunes showing an alert, that your iPhone can sync with iCloud and iTunes Photo sync is disabled?

If iTunes Photo Sync is available, but does not update properly, remove the iPod Photo Cache from your iPhoto Library as described here at this link:   iTunes: Understanding the iPod Photo Cache folder
