Q: Can I use a Target Display on the iMac with a Microsoft laptop?

I have Microsoft Laptop and would like to hook it up to my 27inch iMac to use as a display I know we can do this with Mac Book but can we do it in the same way with a microsoft laptop?

Thanks

Unfortunately, that's not possible. Apple only supports Target Display mode if you want to use your iMac as an external display for another Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt-equipped Mac.

Apart from that, note that you would only be able to plug a laptop with Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt, and both of them are very strange connectors on any non-Apple computer.

you can do it using programs such as teamviewer or remote desktop or a vnc client / server pretty easy really but there is a performance dec and you can't really use it to view movies or play games
