Q: Carriage Return in a Cell in Numbers (iOS)

Is there a way to do a "carriage return" in a cell in Numbers iOS?

The equivalent of "option+return" on the Mac keyboard.

Thanks,

    GGreetings from 2016

this answer is still the best as it is the 'actual' by design way to insert the Line Break.

    thanks

I know this post got bumped due to a recently posted comment, but since it is up at top in the discussions, lets get the proper answer for the newest version of numbers for  ios posted. Most of the answers posted below are for the desktop version or require a wireless keyboard.

The proper solution for the mosdt recent version fo ios numbers with no external keyboard:

    1. double tap the cell you want to type into
    2. tap the "T" to the left to type in text information
    3. type your first line of text
    4. tap and hold for a second or two in the text area above the keyboard, at the end of the line
    5. when you release you will see a menu with "Select" at the far left. To the right is "Insert"
    6. Tap "Insert"
    7. A new menu appears
    8. Tap "Line Feed"
    9. Type the next line of your text

You can insert the line feed at any point by using the tap and hold wherever you want to insert the line feed.
