Q: iTunesSetup.exe won't download

The latest version of iTunes wouldn't update properly, so I followed the instructions on this site to totally remove iTunes and any associated programs, restarted my computer (Windows 7), and tried to download iTunes from scratch.  As soon as I click on the "Download Now" button, I get the "Thank you for downloading iTunes" screen.  THEN the dialog box opens to ask me if I want to save iTunesSetup.exe.  I click on "Save File", and the dialog box goes away.  That's it.  Nothing else happens.  I get no further confirmation that the installer has downloaded, and I can't find it on the computer ANYWHERE.

How do I force the installer to actually download?

I don't even get an option to save, let alone run the program. The link just keeps saying "Connecting..." and iTunes directly, just says "Thank you for downloading iTunes" and doesn't do anything more than that.

If you have difficulty downloading the current iTunes installer file try; unticking the "Keep me up to date..." box, clearing your browser's cache, changing pop-up blocker settings, right-clicking or ctrl-clicking the download button, using an alternate browser, or using the direct links from here.

I struggled for a long time trying to download iTunes on Windows 10. I was using the Microsoft Edge browser. The first time I tried to download iTunes on the Internet Explorer browser, it worked! I can't believe it was so simple, but this really fixed the problem!!! Thank you so much for your help!!!
