Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I know it's important to have iTunes working the way you'd expect, so I'll be happy to give you some direction to help with this.
Looking through this myself, it seems that the ratings are only available in song view, and even then that column has to be enabled.
Please ensure you've updated iTunes to the latest version, and you will instead see the heart to "love" an album or song:

Jun 18, 2016 9:40 AM in response to spankmaster79by turingtest2,You can rate albums in the Songs view if you enable album artwork and make the artwork column wide enough to show the rating alongside the artwork. To remove the rating click just to the left of the first star. The Album Rating column itself can only be used to review the value, not set it.
