Q: Disappearance of music

Hi!

So, I was enjoying my Music on my iPhone, but then:

1. I Signed out from my U.S Apple ID.

2. Signed in to my A.U Apple ID.

3. Went to the App Store to download a previously purchased App.

4. I Signed out from A.U ID, and then In to my U.S ID.

5. Now 'My Music' in Apple Music is empty

Notes:

-This issue is only happening on my iPhone. Apple Music on my Macbook is working just sweet as.

-It didn't work either when I tried the instructions in: Sync Apple Music across your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and computer - Apple Support

Would love to hear your thoughts on this issue

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.2

Welcome to Apple Support Communities, AJ

I use Apple Music myself along with my son. He signed out of his ID and lost all of his offline music just as you did. He had to re-download all of them again after he signed back in with the original ID. While this can be a bit confusing, there's a great explanation in this discussion.

What exactly means "offline" in Apple Music?

"Even if you're listening to local downloaded tracks you still need to stay logged into your Apple Music account as all Apple Music tracks are DRM protected and it needs to verify you have a valid subscription. If you log out of your account registered with Apple Music or you cancel your subscription you no longer have the right to play that music."

The same situation will occur if you also turn off iCloud Music Library, so be aware of that as well.

    Cheers!

    Problem solved!

How? I just connected to Wifi (For the first time since I've lost my Music Library), and voila! My whole library is back.

One thing to note though: I'm using only streamed songs, not local downloaded music.

And Thank you Alex, I wasn't fully aware of how DRM controls the availability of music, until I read the article on your reply. Cheers mate
