Q: Charging multiple items

I need to charge two iPhones and two iPads,I would like to do this with as few plugs as possible. I've seen multiple usb chargers and have bought one but none of my apple products charge but my kindle and mifi do. Do I need a special one?

Your iPad comes with a 12 watt charger. It can be used on both iPads and both phones (one item at a time.) iPhones require at least a 10 watt charger. Both can be slowly charged when connected to a USB port on the computer, but depending on the computer and number of USB ports you may find yourself limited to slow-charging an iPhone or an iPad. Both together may result in requiring more power than two USB ports can support.

Chargers come with each device that are intended to charge the device. Apple recommends that is how you charge them by using the proper charger. One can purchase multi-port USB charging devices but they must be designed for use with iPhones and iPads.
