Q: Sending text messages

Hello, I have had my watch for 4 days, and I have noticed that it will only send iMessages rather than a text message. When I attempt to reply to a text that is not an iMessage, it responds after 2 ish minutes that the message was not delivered. Is this normal?

Hi

 

The following steps may help:

 

  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Messages:
    • Ensure that Send as SMS is enabled (perhaps try toggling it off and on again, if already enabled).
    • Turn off iMessage at the top of the screen, pause for a few moments, then re-enable it.

 

  • It may also then help to restart both your iPhone and your watch:
    • Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first;
    • To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
    • To turn it back on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
