Thanks for asking your question here in the Apple Communities. Many Apple devices will not charge until they have reached a specified amount of lost power. This is to maintain the battery life, and keep charge cycles low. Try allowing the battery to deplete more, possibly closer to 30%, and then try charging it.
Also, ensure you are using the cable that came with the trackpad, as not all charging cables are the same. Please review this article: About Apple USB Power Adapters which states "Use the USB power adapter and USB cable that come standard with your device." The cable for your device will look similar to the one described in this article, which discusses where the cable for your Magic Trackpad 2 can be found. Find the Lightning to USB cable that comes with your iMac (Late 2015)
Lastly, you may wish to verify the cable you are using is certified. Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories.
