Thanks for checking out the Apple Support Communities. I understand you're getting an error in iTunes on your Windows computer. I can understand wanting to make sure your version of iTunes is working properly and I have a few steps that I can recommend for you.
iTunes has a few components that it needs to work properly, so I recommend to start with making sure that you uninstall all of the programs related to and including iTunes. You can find all of the steps you need outlined in this article:
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later - Apple Support
Once you uninstall iTunes and the related components, you can go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/ to reinstall iTunes.
If the issue persists, this resource includes information regarding Windows error messages, and a link to the Microsoft support website:
If you can‘t install or update iTunes for Windows
Cheers!
