Q: Photos sorting by date problem
Rather than explain how this all came to pass, let me just describe the situation. I've got about 900 photos which I imported into Photo from IPhoto. Mostly I organize photos by topic and place using albums, but it seems that Photo's default is to sort by date.
All 900 of my photos have incorrect dates. Sometimes wildly incorrect. (Again: how this came to be, not important). The result is that I see (for example) under July 1, 1989 photos from 1902, 1950, 1990, 2004 -- no rhyme or reason.
The idea of fixing the metadata for all 900 photos is daunting. So here's my question. Would it break something if I did a 'select all' and then bulk changed the date on every photo to the same date. So, January 1, 2016, for example. Later I would make date-associated albums, but in a much looser configuration. So for example: Joe - Birth to Kindergarten
It's really disorienting to see the chaos of 900 photos distributed willy-nilly across the years.
So can I do this, change the date on all of them to the same date?
Any guidance much appreciated.

that is not a feature of Photos but some experienced users have written scripts for things like that - this one does what you want - Script: Batch Change the Date and Time to a Fixed Date
and it is available here as a compiled application - http://www.oldtoadstutorials.net/No.P01.html
