Q: iPad activation

Hey guys,

I'm having a problem to activate my iPad. My friend just bought an refurbished iPad on Amazon and she asked me to activate it for her.

This is iPad 2, and the version is very old, not the one that I know of. So when I tried to activate it, it said that "Your iPad could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPad to iTunes to activate it, or try again after few minutes."

I tried many times but it didn't work.

Can anyone help me with this?

Hi there! Try and connect the iPad to your computer via the charger cable, then run iTunes. Follow the on-screen prompts and soon you should be up and running.

Is this an iPad 2 GSM cellular model?

If you can’t activate your iPad 2 (GSM model) after you update to iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

Otherwise:

If you can't activate your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch after installing iOS 9.3 - Apple Support
