Since Safari is not my first browser of choice, I've not had to start it without extensions
so I'm not sure if you start Safari with the shift key held, or use another....
This is where they say you can start Safari with the Shift key held; and other reasons why:

After all this you could download the report generating app from Etrecheck if you like;
it can be helpful to reveal bits that may be causing issues. It can also be used to remove
some kinds of adware. Read the instructions before downloading this item.
