I need to change the name on some mail I am getting.  The sender is misidentified.  How / where do I do make this correction?

(The email address is attached to a position, like governor or chief executive head)

    Hi gbwestoly,

Thanks for coming to us in the Apple Support Communities. I know it's important to easily tell who your mail is being sent to and received from, so I'm happy to provide you some direction to get you on track to fixing this.

Mail pulls this information from a few locations. First, open the contacts app on your iMac and search for the email address you want to fix. Click the edit button at the bottom right to change the name for that address.

If you notice that Mail is still not showing the correct information, check out the steps here to remove those older entries:

Mail (El Capitan): Delete old email addresses

    Cheers!
