Jun 21, 2016 9:45 AM in response to snsmom2by Meg St._Clair,Do you have it plugged in? If the iPad goes to sleep and is not plugged in, it will disconnect from Wifi. But, even if it does, it should reconnect as soon as you wake it up.
The problem might be on the router end, too. You may want to review your router settings.

Settings>General>Autolock
I think you should consult the documentation for your router (or contact your ISP).

Go to settings reset network settings after reset enter your router wireless key on ipad
But ipads go into a sleep mode when not being used that maybe your problem .
