Q: How to replace logic board on mid-2010 MacBook Pro
I have a mid-2010 13-inch MacBook Pro. About once a week, the monitors (the one that's part of the notebook and an external one) will just turn gray and freeze. When I power off the computer, it takes me back to the login screen (I'm running 10.11.5), but I'm unable to move the pointer (either with my trackpad or Apple Wireless Mouse) to select my login icon. After a few reboots, the computer will load to the password reset function. And that that point, I can reuse the mouse, select to restart the machine, and I'm back on my way.
Both the Apple Genius and I suspect the issue is with the logic board. Alas, Apple no longer has the parts for a mid-2010 MacBook Pro. I contacted a few certified Apple service centers that the genus gave me; none of them can help either.
Any suggestions for how I an fix this issue? Thanks!
