Q: 'File Chooser' not in sync w/ 'Finder'(no iCloud drive)

Hi,

 

I am running the latest version of El Capitain and I am having a problem with my file chooser/finder.

 

My finder window is customized to have shortcuts to all my most often used locations - i.e. current project folders, iCloud drive etc.

 

When I go to add a file as an attachment, upload something online, open from within any application it always reverts back to the system default finder (and my shortcut locations are only accessed manually) - and more importantly I can not get to my iCloud drive location that way either.

 

Any thoughts?

    If you are referring to the 'Favorites' list the behaviour you describe is not what I experience. In my case, the Favorites list in a Finder window matches the Favorites list in the attachment file-chooser dialog in Mail.

     

    Maybe the daemon that keeps such things organised has quit for some reason. Try quitting all applications, then log out, restart and see if it's magically fixed itself.
