Q: Make my playlists available to family member

I have long used an iPhone, iMac, and iTunes with lots of purchased and uploaded songs. With my iPhone 6plus, I subscribed to Apple Music membership.  I have finally convinced my wife to upgrade from her old flip phone to an iPhone 6plus as well.  I upgraded my Apple Music membership to a Family membership so she could have access to the music.  But basically she is starting from square one.  What I want to do is get her started with my playlists.  I though a Family membership would allow syncing of playlists across devices, but apparently since she is using her own Apple log in, that isn't the case.  So my question is how do I give her access to my music and playlists?

Thank you.

    Hello mb34

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple support communities. I know how crazy it can be when you first get a family membership setup, but i've got a link here that may help you share your music with your wife: Manage your Apple Music membership on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC

Once you've gone through the setup and added her ID to your family sharing settings if you are still having trouble, the community is here to help. Let us know how it goes.

    Best regards

I had no problem doing that.  Went through and highlighted or deleted the floating red balls to help narrow down what Apple Music would suggest.  But in My Music it is empty.  I have a lot of music on my computer and on my iPhone organized into playlists in My Music.  Our musical tastes overlap in some areas, so what I want to do is get some of that music and playlists on her iPhone.  I am wondering if I should temporarily sign out on her iPhone and sync it up to the computer, or how exactly I would populate her MyMusic with music and playlists to get her started.

    Thank you.

The easiest way to share a playlist from your iPhone is to go to the playlist, touch the three dots top right and click share playlist.  You can text message the playlist to anyone you want and they can have those same songs on their device through Apple Music.  It works really well and it makes sharing fun!
