Jun 22, 2016 10:54 AM in response to abondphoto007by léonie,The filenames with the image numbers do only show in the Info panel for a photo. Select the photo in Photos and enter ⌘I to open the Info panel.
Photos is showing the filename in the Info panel for a photo, but below the thumbnails it will only show titles, not filenames.
If you enable metadata in the View menu in Photos "View > Metadata", then enable all options, you will see the titles.
But you will still have to copy the filenames to the Title field, if you want to see the filenames.
We posted an Apple Script in the User Tip section (Photos for Mac User Tips) to copy the filenames to the title field for selected photos. See:

Jun 22, 2016 12:11 PM in response to abondphoto007by Old Toad,The file names are not automatically displayed under the thumbnails as in iPhoto. To get what you want first go to the View ➙ Metadata menu option and check all of the items in the list:
Next, to get all of the file names imported into the Title fields use one of these two Applescripts from the Photos for Mac User Tipssection:
Script: Batch Changing the Titles to the Filename w/Extension
Script: Changing the Title to the Filename without Extension
This will write the file names to the Title field under each thumbnail. Do not try to do the entire library at once as you may get timeouts for the script. Do it in smaller segments.
