Jun 22, 2016 2:37 PM in response to dominic23by SilverdaleJB,So I was looking for mackeeper. It's not in the applications folder. There is nothing with the name mackeeper when I search my computer. Not sure where it is, but obviously I deleted it sometime in the past and there's a remnant there somewhere.

Jun 22, 2016 4:44 PM in response to dominic23by SilverdaleJB,This did not solve the problem. Immediately upon restart, I opened a Safari tab to check something on Wikipedia and got the "can't find server" message.

Jun 24, 2016 5:17 PM in response to SilverdaleJBby dominic23,★HelpfulIf you have not tried this already, please try it.
1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
Restart the computer and test.
2. Try Google DNS (Domain Name Servers)
Launch System Preferences from the Dock.
System Preferences > Network
Click the lock to unlock and authenticate.
Click “Advanced” button at the bottom right corner of the window.
Click the DNS tab.
Click the”+” button at the bottom left corner.
You will have an ISP provided DNS Server listed
Add these two server numbers under it, one under another.
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
Click the “+” button and add the first entry listed above.
Click the “+” button again and enter the second number
Click OK and then Apply.
Test Safari.
If you ever want to remove these DNS names, just highlight it and press the “-“ button.
