Q: Using Numbers Templates in IPad2 without cloud

I have an iPad 2 and run Numbers and Pages on it quite well. However, my iPad2 does not have cellular service so when I'm away from WiFi I can't access the iCloud. What I want is to be able to access certain Numbers Templates of my own  and then be able to name and store the documents that I work on all without being online. There is a Readdle app called Documents 5 that I'm told allows me to do this. What is the recommended way of being able to work on my documents on my IPad2 when offline?

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 9.3.2

All i do is download the templates as normal files to your numbers program, on your ipad.

Then instead of using that file when i want a file of that template type, I make a duplicate of it.

This keeps me one fresh copy of the template file, and any number of working files based on it.

Both Documents 5 (Readdle) and File Manager have local file storage capability and would work for what you are attempting. However, jaxjason's recommendation is perfectly valid as well.

Thank you for your answer. However, I don't know how to do that. The way I use Numbers on my iPad and iPhone is to open up files on iCloud that are then saved to the cloud. I'm sure it's a simple thing, but how exactly do I download documents to my iPad and then how do I duplicate the document? If I can do that, that would be perfect.

Once you open a file from iCloud in Number on the device, there is a copy on the device. Any edits you make to it will be updated on the cloud the next time you are connected to the internet.
